Cordless Lawn Mower Vs. Corded Lawn Mower

Friday, February 17th, 2012

Source: Environment Canada, National Air Pollution Surveillance (NAPS ...There are several types of a lawn mower that you can get if you want to tidy up the grass on your backyard and garden. Those types are a battery mower, electric lawn mower, and gas lawnmower. However, all of them are drilled down to two basic types of a lawn mower, which is the cordless and corded type.

Depending on your needs, corded lawn mower and cordless lawn mower have their own good and bad side to consider. Cordless lawn mower is great as it’s kind of portable because you can bring it anywhere. If your garden is large, you don’t have to invest on a long power extension cable. However, since they are using a certain type of fuel (e.g. The gas lawn mower), cordless type of lawn mower is considered as a non-environment friendly product.

On the other hand, a corded lawn mower has no long reach if you’ve got no long power extension cable, and the cable might get in the way as you mow around. But you’ll have an unlimited mowing time as it has a unlimited power source. Also, most corded mower is very lightweight to push around. Corded lawn mower is very suitable for the elder who’ve got no more arm’s power like they used to have.

So, which one if the best fit for you? If you’ve a strong arms, you can go for the cordless lawn mower as the weight of the battery won’t be a problem for you. Alternatively, if you do care about the Mother Nature, you’ll want to invest your money on the cordless mower. This one has no carbon emission at all so it’s best for the environment.

If you are looking for a electric version, you can also check out this electric lawn mower reviews for more details.

Vegetable Gardening for Beginners Books Available for Electronic Book Reader Too

Saturday, February 11th, 2012

I recently started looking into possibility of buying electronic book reader. The most acknowledged e-book reader currently on the market is Kindle from Amazon. I like the possibility of having thousands books stored in single little device, that is light, doesn’t take up space and which battery lasts very long. I placed the order with expedited shipping for the model with multi touch six inch screen, and it should arrive in about a week. Waiting for it made me very impatient, so I already started looking for books on Amazon, and ordered few classics, some comics and even managed to find one book that I have in my home and that is about vegetable gardening for beginners. Some of them were free, and others almost at a bargain price. I hope that I won’t be disappointed by the device, as it is still electronic, rather than paper, but I read only good reviews about it. Some say that book is still a better choice, but let’s wait and find out.

Should Budget Be the Sole Consideration in Buying Chainsaws?

Sunday, February 5th, 2012

When buying almost anything, the ordinary guy would naturally determine first his budget before even shopping for an item. But is budget the only consideration when shopping for chainsaws for sale? Chainsaws are very handy tools when it comes to cleaning the backyard, especially after a storm has left many tree branches cluttering the area. Although most people would naturally prioritize budget when buying chainsaws, there are other things that should be considered when purchasing this tool.

One of these factors that need to be taken into consideration is the size of the chainsaw. Various chainsaws serve different purposes. If a person only has to prune branches of trees, then a small electric chainsaw may be enough for him. He does not need a gas-powered chainsaw because this type of tool is most appropriate for taking down big trees. The same goes for a person who only needs to gather firewood.

Safety features should also not be overlooked. Neophyte users of chainsaws must place priority on security features like kickback reducing system that prevents contact of the bar tip against solid objects and even a chain brake. Safety features like these make a chainsaw safer to use for any operator.

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

When it comes to termites one thing that you want to make sure is that you reduce the amount of moisture around your house. Termites are drawn to moisture and are more apt to feed on a house that has an excess amount of it around the perimeter. There are a lot of things you can do to reduce moisture around the house. Also make sure that the dirt and soil around your house are porous and allows water to travel within it as well. Finally you can make sure that you do a termite inspection every so often so that you can get on top of the problem before it really starts to get bad. Termites can number in the tens of thousands and its important to make sure you get them all.

Grow Lights Convince Me

Saturday, December 10th, 2011

I assigned the students in my class a descriptive essay. They were having a hard time with this so I broke the assignment down into several different steps. The first step they were to focus on was to describe every single thing about the subject without worrying about form and structure. Ellen was going to write about her father’s indoor garden. She started with a vivid description of the Grow Lights then she worked her way down. She described the lights themselves and then the individual beams of light as they shone on the dirt, which then yielded the various plants. Then she described a few of the plants, zeroing in on the edible plants. She painted such a vivid picture of the tomato plants from their trip from garden to her plate, that not only did it make me hungry, I wanted to start my own indoor garden at my home.

Omg Great Tool

Sunday, December 4th, 2011

Mine overheated and the motor burnt out. This item works fantastic, and this edger is a winner when going around my pool landscaping. I find this edger does stay in the edger position when in use. Spend more time with the wife and children by getting this tool! Once you make the cut, you’ll need a shovel to clean up the area a little. Impressed with this edgers power. There’s absolutely nothing to complain about with this particular unit. It is extremely easy to use and works fantastic on edging the flower beds. Lots of power at much less cost than gasoline models. You just have to attach the handle, tighten three bolts (no equipment required), and you’re on your way! Appears very sturdy and easy to maintain. I am glad I did not buy one of the noisy gasoline ones that were recommended at Sears. I was looking at gas edgers, and am so glad I purchased this model.

Being the Headmaster

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

I am having problems with managing the school’s quadrangle and in need of one of the best cheap lawn mowers in town. Being a school headmaster is not an easy job. Every day, you have to deal with both kids and adults and sometimes the distinction between the two can be very thin. You also have to deal with faculty and administration staffs and deal with their needs and issues. And of course, you are also in charge with fiscal management making sure that the school stays afloat. Last week, my janitors and helpers from the manpower services finished their contract and up to now, I haven’t heard anything yet from the company. I am preparing for the worse scenario where I would look for my own people as utility workers. One of the jobs I personally would want them to do is to maintain the quadrangle. The quadrangle is needed to me mowed twice or even three times a week.

Reclaimed Teak Garden Furniture

Friday, June 17th, 2011

For those wanting to own garden furniture that is eco-friendly they can purchase a set made out of reclaimed teak.

By using reclaimed timber to make garden furniture it means that no trees have to be felled. Instead, old teak implements are refashioned into such things as garden benches, stools, and tables.

Old fence posts and even wheels from ox carts are reclaimed and turned in to pieces of handmade garden furniture. Much of this type of furniture is produced in the Far East. Instead of the teak being disposed of skilled craft workers turn it into exotic examples of furniture fit to grace any garden. This provides work for the villagers and helps maintain the sustainability of the teak plantations.

Reclaimed teak is very stable and able to withstand fluctuations in weather, producing furniture that is ideal for outdoor conditions. It also contains natural oils which ensure the furniture will last for years.

Why the Ryan IV Lawn Aerator is the Best

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

After aerating nearly 7,000 lawns with several different types of aerators, you really start to get the feel for which type of lawn aerator works the best.

To me, the billy goat lawn aerator always felt a bit oversized. This made turning on small lawns very difficult. In addition, it was also hard to maneuver on and around hilly landscape. Home depot rents these because they are tough and durable. The biggest downside is that they are not user friendly.

Another popular model of aerator for lawn aeration is the blue bird lawn aerator. The newer models are cheap and they are pieces of junk. Parts that should be made out of metal, are made out of plastic, such as the roller for the belt. Once I had one where the muffler just fell off leaving two bolts in the engine. I had just gotten my aerator out of the shop before this happen and it really put me in a bad mood. Another drawback is that even though they are very easy to turn, they are also very easy to roll. The last thing you want when using a 300 pound aerator is to loose control and have it come rolling down a hill out of control. Home depot carries these because they are cheap.

The Ryan IV lawn aerator is the best aerator I have ever used. I have owned 4 of these. The first, I bought new and it lasted for 4,000 lawns with next to no maintenance. These machine offer superior control and you can even pull up plugs in the middle of the summer. When working in Seattle and Portland, we did a lot of hilly lawns. This machine is by far the fastest and easiest to use. But what I like best about these Ryan aerators is that they don’t require a lot of maintenance they just keep on working day after day, just like me, without complaining or giving me grief.

Garden Decor Ideas: Enclosing a Patio for Temporary Privacy

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

The main idea on how to enclose a patio is not usually permanently enclosing the whole outdoor space. If you are not comfortable about the idea of totally giving up your outdoor space, you can chose to enclose it with removable materials. One day, your patio can be a very secured and private spot. The next day, you can turn it again into an open outdoor space at home.

There are a lot of options for you when you wish to enclose the patio only temporarily. Even if they are removable options, they are often great additions in the overall garden decor. One thing you can consider as a patio enclosure is a potted privacy fence. Arrange and plant alternating small and tall plants in pots that surround the whole area of your patio space. Though it may take time to grow plants for this privacy fence, this will create a very natural dimension in your garden and patio.

Bamboo fencing is another way to enclose your patio. You can choose the height of this fence and simply arrange each bamboo piece side by side each other. This is a very cost-effective way to cover up your patio. There’s no need to actually dig the ground just to install the bamboo fencing. Hence, removing them will be easier as compared to real wood fencing.

Moreover, garden art such as sculptures can create a privacy outdoor enclosure. Arrange tall sculptures along the area of the patio. This will create an instant garden decoration and instant private space away from the eyes of nosy neighbors.

There really is no way you cannot enjoy your privacy while relaxing in your very own patio. With the enclosures these above-mentioned tricks can offer, you can greatly feel more privacy at home without the fear of permanence. The moment you want fresh air to come in again or you want to change the view of the yard, you can always get rid of these fences and bring them back once you need them again.

UPVC French Doors

Sunday, December 19th, 2010

Building a home on your own can be both fun and challenging. You have a lot of decisions to make and some of those choices can come back and haunt you later on if you are not careful. The last thing you want to do is to be making repairs after only a few years in your new home. If you get the opportunity to select your outside doors, you really ought to look into the efficiency of UPVC French doors as they can save you money each month on your electrical bill. UPVC patio doors prices are fairly reasonable considering your other alternatives.

These doors are constructed with heavy duty thermal insulation which is exactly how they can save you so much money. A natural reflector of the sun, uPVC doors and windows can easily keep the heat from coming into your home during the dreaded months of summer. You can also recycle these windows and doors as the materials are very eco-friendly and are not damaging to the environment at all. It is good to be nice to the environment.

Too much maintenance is needed with a wooden door to make it a practical option for your home anymore. Every few years you will need to pull out the paint bucket and also check for rotting when you have a traditional wood front door. Others, naturally gravitate to aluminum doors so that you do not have to deal with rotting, but you exchange one problem for another because of the potential for rust. With uPVC you do not have to deal with either of these problems making it the smartest choice for your home. If your ultimate goal is low maintenance, then this is the best route as it is uniquely constructed with a hard plastic substance. The only maintenance you will ever need to do is an occasional cleaning like you would any other household product.
